Firstly...
I went to Copenhagen, and spent a wonderful 4 days with my very dear friend, icon:selinaenriquez. She took me around all the sights, looked after me, fed me, laughed, cried and fangirled with me, and I am so very glad for the time we spent together. She is a shiny star, she truly is!
But also....I went to..MEMORABILIA!!
It went superbly. As it was my first one and I'm
still hyped about it, I thought I'd tell you all what happened.
I went with my friend Gem, a Star Trek fangirl who promised me she'd
watched SW, but instead fell asleep during them. Lying little Trekkie!
I also met up with a mate from online, Rhi,icon:rhi-sparks and we went around
together all day.
Rhi gave me a Darth Vader figure!!! I love him so much and she knew
what to buy me and everything!!! *huggles the figure in its box* She
also gave me a Dalek card and a badge and EVERYTHING.
Firstly, we went to get the autograph of Caroline Blakiston, the woman
who played Mon Mothma in ROTJ. I was a bit, erm, but shes a rebel
leader to Rhi, who nevertheless shook me up and made me meet her. Of
course, I was only joking ^.^ I love winding up my friends.
Anyway, she was the sweetest woman ever, she asked us what we were
doing and was very impressed that we are all going to university. She
wished us luck in our studies and seemed surprised that all three of
us were going. Meh, but: Rhi (Law, Me (Politics and History) and Gem
(Biochemistry). Well, we're diverse and like to learn!
But yes...we went around the stalls, I bought a BritFilm, picked up
some more autographs. I managed to get John Leeson, the voice of K-9,
to sign two pictures and say 'Thank you, Mistress' in his stage voice.
Then a Dalek came up, called me Lady Redhead, and let me take a photo
of it. It was so funny. Then Rhi practically draped herself over it,
and some very inappropriate double entendres including 'Watch my
balls' came up.
Daleks...I love em.
Then we popped outside for more money, and a Stormtrooper came up and
tried to remove my lightsabre. I wasn't carrying th correct license
apparently, and my Jedi mind powers weren't working on them. So they
said they'd have to accompany me to the local Imperial Garrison, and I
was like WAHEY!! They were a little confused...then I got a photo with
them. It was brill.
Erm, then an announcement for FREE HASBRO MERCHANDISE came over the
intercom, and I lead a stampede towards the stage area and settled
down to hear from the Hasbro fan liasion. He doesn't get paid, hes a
major SW collector that wanted to improve the amount of merchandise we
Brits get, and so he volunteered himself for the job.
Its so cool, he gave us a world exclusive, they're releasing new
figures with reprints of comics next year, as well as 74 new figures
including EU. I can hardly wait, I hope this Thrawn is better than the
old one! Mara Jade ought to be fabulous as well...
And then he gave away merchandise...and I won something! The question
was 'which hollywood actress played one of Padme Amidala's handmaidens
in TPM?'.Only I knw it was Kiera Knightley. The irony is I hate her,
and she won me a prize.
I gave it to Rhi, shes a rabid SW collector, so now she owes me
something suitably Imperial ^.^ It was only an Obi Wan Fighter, not
particularly Imperial...
And then we went home...And it was such a good day!
I also found my most favouritist Graphic Novel ever, Blood and Honour, the Making of Baron Fel.
God I love being a fangirl!
So yes...I've bored you all senseless, very sorry.
BUT!!! I have the chance to go to London later in the year and meet
Julian Glover. I may just take the chance...And in November
Memorabilia has David Prowse showing up, and Rhi wants to know why he
never wrote back to her as a child...it was so funny!
So yes...This week I have booster jabs (that the NHS forgot to give me...) and exam results, eppp!
Yeah, well...Que Sera Sera.
